Terms and Conditions

Last updated 18 October 2026.

About these terms

These terms cover use of brandresearch.co.uk and registration for market research opportunities with Brand Research Limited, company number 07519080, incorporated in England and Wales. Our registered office is Cuffley Place, Office 205, Sopers Road, Cuffley, United Kingdom, EN6 4SG. Contact us at info@brandresearch.co.uk.

Registration is free. These terms explain the service and your responsibilities. Specific research projects have additional information and participation arrangements which we provide before you agree to take part. Client research commissions are governed by their separately agreed quotation and contract; this page does not replace those agreements.

Who can register

You must be aged 18 or over to join the general respondent database. Register using your own identity and contact details, and provide accurate and current answers. Tell us about changes that affect your profile or suitability for a project. Do not create duplicate registrations, apply in somebody else’s name or send somebody else to attend for you.

For child or family research, a parent or guardian must deal with us through the separate project process. Children cannot join through the adult registration form.

Invitations and selection

Registration does not guarantee invitations, selection, a minimum amount of research or income. Invitations depend on project requirements and available places. Applying or completing a screener does not mean that your place is confirmed. We may contact you by telephone to check suitability. A phone call is not required to complete general registration.

We confirm the research format, dates, location or platform, expected time, relevant activities and incentive arrangements before you commit. If a project has several stages, diaries or tasks, we explain them and any completion conditions in advance. Please raise accessibility or participation needs with us so that we can discuss suitable arrangements.

Taking part is voluntary

You can decline invitations and may stop participating in research. Tell us promptly if you cannot attend or wish to withdraw, so we can notify the research organisation and offer the place to someone else. We explain any effect on an incentive under the terms agreed for that project. Withdrawal does not remove your rights to any payment already earned under those arrangements or your statutory rights.

If we or the research organisation need to change or cancel a session, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and explain any rearrangement, attendance or cancellation payment arrangements that apply. We do not assume that every cancellation means the same payment outcome.

Incentives and expenses

The amount, form, payer, timing and conditions of an incentive are stated for each project. An incentive may be money, a voucher or another specified reward; do not assume it is cash. Where a client or another provider administers payment, we explain that before participation. Agree any travel or other expenses in advance; reimbursement applies only as agreed for the project.

Payment conditions must be clear before you agree to take part and cannot be changed retrospectively to your disadvantage without your agreement. If there is a dispute about eligibility, attendance, completion or payment, contact us. We will investigate the evidence and explain the position rather than applying an automatic blanket forfeiture. You remain responsible for any personal tax obligations that apply to your incentives.

Honest answers and respectful participation

Please give honest answers and follow reasonable project instructions. Do not conceal relevant information to qualify, manipulate screeners, submit fabricated responses or use AI to produce personal experiences or research answers unless the project expressly permits it. Behave respectfully towards participants, recruiters and researchers.

We may decline an application or pause or close a registration where there is a reasonable concern about identity, suitability, duplicate applications, fraud, harassment or serious misuse. Where appropriate, we will explain and give you an opportunity to respond. These steps do not remove privacy rights or automatically cancel an earned incentive.

Confidentiality and research materials

A project may involve confidential concepts, prototypes, products or unreleased information. We explain confidentiality requirements and any separate agreement before participation. Follow the agreed restrictions on recording, photographing, copying or sharing confidential materials. This does not prevent lawful reporting of concerns, seeking advice, exercising your rights or making a protected disclosure.

If a project uses audio, video, photographs, diaries or an online platform, we explain the purpose, who will receive the material and the relevant consent or other participation arrangements. General registration is not blanket permission to record you or publish your image.

Product testing

Where a project involves a product, delivery or safety instructions, we provide the relevant information before you agree to take part. We ask for a delivery address only when needed for that project and confirm delivery details before dispatch. Follow the supplied usage and safety instructions and tell the project contact promptly about a problem or adverse reaction. Do not use a test product contrary to those instructions.

Privacy and contact preferences

Our Privacy Policy explains the information we use, the reasons, service providers, retention, overseas processing and your rights. Reading these terms is not blanket consent for personal information, ethnicity processing, tracking or unrelated marketing. Where consent is needed, we ask separately.

You can unsubscribe from invitations through the email link or contact us. To ask for your registration profile to be deleted, email info@brandresearch.co.uk. Closing a registration does not prevent necessary administration of an existing participation arrangement or lawful retention of limited records.

Website use and other services

Use the website lawfully. Do not try to access information or systems without authorisation, introduce malware, disrupt the service or use other people’s personal information improperly. Website content belongs to Brand Research or the relevant rights holder. You may use it for personal information and taking part in research; obtain permission before commercial reuse or use of our logo.

We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but errors, maintenance and interruptions can occur. Tell us about errors rather than relying on an obvious mistake. Links and research platforms may be operated by other organisations with their own terms. We explain their role where relevant; these terms do not remove any responsibility we have for our own work.

Responsibility and your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any responsibility or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing removes rights you have under applicable consumer or data protection law.

Where we fail to meet our legal obligations, responsibility for resulting loss is determined under the applicable law. We do not impose a blanket indemnity on participants or make you responsible for losses regardless of our own fault. Specific research agreements may set out appropriate additional responsibilities, subject to your legal rights.

Questions and complaints

Contact info@brandresearch.co.uk with questions, access needs, cancellations or complaints. Include the project name where relevant, but avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information. We will explain the next steps. The Privacy Policy explains how to complain about data protection, including to the ICO.

Changes and governing law

We show the date of updated terms and give reasonable advance notice of material changes where appropriate. We will not retrospectively change agreed project or incentive arrangements simply by updating this page. If you do not wish to continue receiving invitations, you can close your registration.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. They do not take away any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of your home part of the UK. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms apply so far as the law permits.
